Introduction 121
"The mix I’ve put together includes some of my favourite progressive and melodic techno tracks at the moment. As with many other sets, I always try to incorporate my dark and driving style with melodic elements to create that diversity between tracks. I strive for listeners to feel a sense of euphoria while engaging in a journey throughout the mix. Whether that is through the long breakdowns and epic build ups to powerful drops, I love creating a mix that is perfect for a club in the early hours of the morning. Having an audience that has fully immersed themselves in the music without losing any attention is always the goal during live performances or pre recorded sets."
"I’ve drawn my inspiration from many influential artists in the progressive house scene. Ever since I started listening to the genre in 2008, Eric Prydz was the first huge artist I discovered which obsessed myself with the music. I absolutely loved his melodies and breakdowns creating an incredibly unique style that no other DJ can replicate. However, throughout the years, my style has become much darker and now I am very invested in the underground progressive and melodic techno scene. Favourite artists include Sean & Dee, Paul Thomas, FUENKA, Coeus, Dyzen, Rick Pier O’Neil and many others. My current sound is majorly influenced by these artists where I try to take my music to a very dark and heavy nature."
"My favourite release to date would have to be my ‘Controversy’ EP with Cinematique. I signed the title track in May 2020 and it was a very long wait until release in January this year. Cristoph premiered the track in his Consequence of Society 012 podcast 5 months prior which created huge exposure and anticipation of the release. The EP received huge feedback and performed very well in the Beatport charts reaching the #1 spot in the Top 100 Melodic House & Techno Releases. I was very pleased with the results after working so hard on the tracks and promoting them as best I could."
"2021 plans include my first two remix releases coming out mid year and two different collaborations with Cowlam and George Alhabel. I’ve never collaborated before so I am excited to share what we’ve created. Finally, I have a single which I’ve just signed to one of my favourite labels coming out in June. I can’t wait for that one as I’ve wanted to sign with them for a long time. Other than that just hoping for the best with this whole Covid situation so we can start playing clubs and festivals again!"
"Success is not easy - for me, values that have created success include a never satisfied attitude, perseverance, proven work ethic, and the utmost passion for music. I also think to be successful, you need to experience a lot of failure so you can learn from your mistakes. This is very important as it allows you to build experience in whatever it is you are pursuing. In this industry, networking also plays a vital role in increasing your exposure as an artist. The more people you meet whether that is promoters, DJ’s, or fans, it all helps substantially with growing your brand. It’s not just about producing; there is so much more to being an artist that will create your success. Mixing, marketing, social media promoting, networking, live performances, and your overall presentation as a human all play a critical part in succeeding as a DJ in today’s saturated industry aside from producing tracks."
"The music."
